Jim Simpson, PGA - Director of Golf Operations

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Jim began playing competitive golf at the age of 8. Jim's passion for the game was a gift from his father who Jim says was his biggest influence in the game and life. By 6th grade, Jim had joined his older brothers on their high school golf team. Later, accomplishments included: Lexington City Junior Champion, Kentucky Jr Champion and a member of his 1981 Kentucky State High school championship team , Jim was afforded a full scholarship to play collegiately at the University of Louisville. Upon turning professional in 1985 Jim began his journey through the PGA management program. In 1989 Jim was elected to full membership.
Jim's 23 year career includes 14 yrs with Marriott Golf where he held various leadership positions at facilities
across the southeast. Jim directs and leads by two simple rules, provide unparalled service and exceed guest expectations on a daily basis. Jim attributes his success to all past and current associates who buy into these key fundamentals of hospitality.
Jim joined Troon Golf in October 2007 and is excited about the future growth and expansion of such a beautiful property in Ave Maria, Florida. In his down time Jim enjoys coaching basketball, fishing, hunting and spending time with his three children; Chase, 11, Reilly, 9 and Cody 4, and wife Paige.
Jim and his family reside in Naples.
